In the life of each person or community, there comes a moment when photographs are assembled in order to “recollect” (in order words, as a confirmation of participation in this life), and these photographs require a summary of sorts.

“ZZZ” is based on the static aesthetic of an imaginary film.

With this idea in mind, several young students from the Youth photography studio at the Centre of creative learning “Annas 2” worked on a project titled “ZZZ” for a number of years. It was developed as an extended group portrait, an album containing memories of the time spent together.

With respect for the passing time, the authors have immortalized themselves, thus visually and demonstratively becoming a part of a self-constructed history (game) and so testifying their own presence at the feast of life directly and documentarily (and, to a certain degree, skittishly).

“ZZZ” is based on the static aesthetic of an imaginary film. It is a game that involves playing with both the unreality and “reality” of such a motionless film.

The photographer is usually not in the frame. The authors of this project have attempted to challenge this situation, playing the role of actors, directors and cameramen themselves.
